SIX SENSE LABS
Privacy Policy — MDSync Setup
Applies to the MDSync Setup App Clip, the MDSync Setup app, and the web setup page at go.sixsensehub.com. Last updated 30 September 2026.
The short version. MDSync Setup does one job: it hands your Wi-Fi details to the MDSync device in front of you, over Bluetooth. It makes no network requests of any kind. It stores nothing on your phone. Nothing you enter is sent to Six Sense Labs or to anyone else — there is no server in the path to send it to.
What the app handles, and where it goes
To do its job the app necessarily touches four things. All of them stay in memory on your phone for the length of the setup session, and travel only to your device:
- Your Wi-Fi network name and password. You type them, or pick the network from a list.
- The list of Wi-Fi networks your MDSync can see. This is read from the device, not from your phone.
- The setup code shown on the device screen, or carried in the link that opened the app.
- The device's advertised name, so you can tell one MDSync from another when more than one is nearby.
Your Wi-Fi password is encrypted end to end
Before anything leaves your phone, the app and your MDSync agree on a key that only the two of them hold (X25519 key agreement, combined with the code on the device screen). Your credentials are encrypted with that key (AES-256-GCM) and can only be read by the device you are setting up.
The code on the screen is what proves you are holding the device: without it, the key does not match and the device refuses the credentials. Three wrong codes close the setup window.
What we do not do
- No data is collected. Nothing is transmitted to Six Sense Labs.
- No servers. The app makes no network requests at all. Setup works with your phone offline.
- No storage. Nothing is written to your phone — no files, no preferences, no keychain entries. When the session ends, nothing remains.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for or sign in to.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking, and no third-party software development kits of any kind.
- No health information. Setup never reads, receives or transmits treatment data from your MDSync.
Permissions
Bluetooth is the only permission the app requests, and it is the only way it can reach your device. It is used solely to find and talk to the MDSync you are setting up. The app does not request location, contacts, photos, the camera, the microphone, or notifications.
Diagnostic logs
The app writes technical logs to your phone's standard system log to make problems diagnosable. Those logs never leave your device unless you choose to share them, and they are redacted as they are written: network names and the part of the device name that identifies your particular unit are masked before anything is recorded. Your Wi-Fi password is never logged in any form.
Children
MDSync Setup is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published at this address with a new date. Material changes will be reflected in the app's App Store listing.
